Pioneer DJ DJM-450
The DJM-450 is a compact two-channel mixer that Pioneer DJ announced in September 2016 as a scaled-down relative of the DJM-900NXS2, and it is still in the current range. It borrows the bigger mixer’s layout, its EQ and channel fader curves (with an isolator setting that fully kills each EQ band), and its Magvel crossfader, which Pioneer rates for more than 10 million movements. The effects are a smaller set: eight Beat FX (Delay, Echo, Spiral, Reverb, Trans, Flanger, Pitch and Roll) and four Sound Colour FX (Dub Echo, Sweep, Noise and Filter), plus a send/return that works with apps on a phone or tablet over USB. A built-in USB sound card connects it to a laptop with one cable, though it runs at 48 kHz/24-bit rather than the 96 kHz of the 900NXS2. It has two phono inputs, an XLR master output, an independent mic channel and both quarter-inch and 3.5 mm headphone jacks. Software support covers rekordbox with DVS and TRAKTOR PRO 3 DVS, and Serato DJ Pro 4.0.6 added a full mapping in 2026, with Serato DVS needing the paid Suite upgrade. It suits a home or small-venue setup built around two turntables or two players.
