Denon DJ X1850 Prime
The X1850 Prime is Denon DJ’s four-channel club mixer, announced in January 2020 alongside the SC6000 players as an update of the 2017 X1800 Prime. Digital DJ Tips called it evolution rather than revolution: the styling was toned down to match the newer players, effects can be quantized to beatgrids sent from Prime players, and two new effects, Echohold and Pumper, were added. Each channel can be set to line, phono, digital, USB or DVS input, and two microphone channels have their own EQ and talkover. Effects work on two levels, with Sweep FX and filter resonance on every channel plus 16 BPM FX driven from a time-division touchstrip. Two USB audio connections allow a laptop changeover or multitrack recording, and a built-in LAN hub links up to four SC players for StageLinQ tempo data, file sharing and lighting or video sync. There is also a 5-pin MIDI out and an OLED screen for settings. Serato lists it as supported, with HID mode and DVS needing a Serato DJ Pro license and the DVS expansion. It suits SC5000 or SC6000 owners who want the matching Denon booth mixer.

- Test both microphone inputs, the master and booth outputs and both headphone jacks.
- Check that the OLED screen is readable and update the firmware from Denon DJ’s downloads page.
