The SL-1210MK2 is the black version of the SL-1200MK2, the deck Technics introduced in 1979 with quartz-locked direct drive and a long ±8% pitch slider. In Europe Technics sold the MK2 as the silver SL-1200 and the matte black SL-1210, both with power supplies switchable between 110 V and 220 V using a selector under the platter. The 1210MK2 was not sold through official Panasonic dealers in the United States, so units there are imports, while the official Japanese and US models were single-voltage. Functionally it matches the silver MK2. Wikipedia notes that some internal circuitry was revised to use fewer types of potentiometers and resistors, and a long-running DJ FAQ notes that one service manual covers both models.
