Technics SL-1200MK3D
The SL-1200MK3D is the 1997 refinement of the Japanese-market SL-1200MK3, and Technics framed it as a set of small changes for working DJs. It brought back a silver cabinet, kept the pitch reset button first seen on the 1995 SL-1200LTD, and removed the click at zero on the pitch slider so you can make fine adjustments around 0%. The reset returns the deck to zero pitch whatever the slider position. It also added a stand for a spare headshell and a recessed power switch that is harder to knock off mid-set. Underneath, the MK3 had already added Technics’ internal damping compound and was the first model to ship with a slipmat, while its basic construction is essentially the MK2’s. The MK3D was made for Japan, with a black version following in 2000; the export equivalents are the silver SL-1200M3D and the black SL-1210M3D, so many listings outside Japan use those names. It sits between the MK2 and the MK5 and suits DJs who want the classic deck with a pitch reset and click-free slider, as long as they check the voltage on an imported unit.

270 listings come up across the MK3D, M3D and 1210M3D names, none for parts, and most ask $775–950 delivered. The MK3D is the Japanese-market model built for 100 V and needs a step-down transformer on 120 V or 230 V mains, while the SL-1200M3D and SL-1210M3D are its export equivalents, so read the rating label on any unit before you buy. Ask for a video of the pitch reset stilling the strobe dots and the slider moving slowly through zero without crackle, since there's no centre click to hide a worn track. A tested Japanese MK3D at $615 shipped is the best value if you add a transformer, an export M3D with its dust cover at about $858 is the simpler buy, and a 95.5% seller at $1,295 and a Japan listing at about $1,790 delivered are ones to skip.

About $510 delivered with Best Offer from a 100% seller, roughly $265 under the band, and the title calls the arm mint. The title lists SL-1200, SL-1210, M3D and MK3D together and the seller's name suggests a spare-parts dealer, so confirm it's a complete deck, which model it is, and its voltage.

Tested per the title, $615 with free shipping, Buy It Now, from a 99.6% seller, about $160 under the band. It's a Japanese-market MK3D, so plan on a step-down transformer for 120 V or 230 V mains and factor that cost in.

Tested per the title, $615 shipped from a 99.6% seller, well under the band; a Japanese-market MK3D titled 'Japan' is a 100 V unit, so budget for a step-down transformer.

An export M3D with the dust cover per the title, about $858 delivered with Best Offer from a 100% seller; it isn't titled as tested, so ask for a pitch and start-up video.

Heads-up
Comes with the box and dust cover per the title, but about $1,029 delivered is over the band, and as an MK3D it may be a 100 V unit; offer lower.

A 95.5% seller asking $1,295 shipped, about $345 over the band; a cartridge doesn't explain that premium, so skip it.

Budget for a fresh stylus or cartridge with any used SL-1200MK3D: a worn stylus damages records. Slipmats, a stylus-force gauge and a spare headshell make setup easier.
