Pioneer DJ CDJ-3000
The CDJ-3000 is the flagship multi player Pioneer DJ announced in September 2020 to succeed the CDJ-2000NXS2. It is the first CDJ built around an MPU (micro-processing unit) and it drops the CD drive entirely: music comes from USB devices, SD cards, a computer or a phone, and Pro DJ Link runs over Gigabit Ethernet. The 9-inch HD touch screen is larger and brighter than the NXS2’s, eight hot cue buttons sit in a row under the waveform, Beat Jump has dedicated buttons, and Key Sync shifts an incoming track to match the master deck. The jog wheel keeps a small LCD in its centre that shows the playhead and artwork. Firmware updates since launch have added Serato DJ Pro and Traktor support, rekordbox CloudDirectPlay, StreamingDirectPlay and Cloud Analysis. In September 2025 AlphaTheta released the CDJ-3000X under its own brand as the next step up. The CDJ-3000 suits DJs who want the current club layout and features and have no need for CDs.

- Typical eBay ask (Oct 3, 2026)
- $2,575–$3,175 used
- Check the serial number on the rear label, because AlphaTheta says units with serials starting DH, DI, DJ or DK (made after August 2024) can lose audio, black out or freeze until updated to firmware 3.17 or later.
- Ask the seller to show the firmware version on screen, and update to the latest release from the Pioneer DJ or AlphaTheta support site after purchase.
- Inspect the 9-inch touch screen for cracks, dead pixels and dead touch zones by asking for a video of browsing and scrolling.
- Ask for a video of the jog wheel and its centre display, the play and cue buttons and all eight hot cue buttons.
- Confirm both the USB and SD slots read media and that the LAN port links to a second player or rekordbox if you plan to use Pro DJ Link.
- Remember there is no CD drive, so CDs need a different player.
- Check that the power cable and any flight case listed in the photos are actually included.

Media, cables and a case
A used CDJ-3000 usually arrives without the extras. Budget for reliable USB drives or SD cards for your exported library, a LAN cable if you link players, and a case or dust cover if it travels.
